If atheism is a belief, then not collecting stamps is a hobby.

From the comments to this You Tube video:

"Faith" is a fine invention, when gentlemen can see
But microscopes are prudent, in an emergency.

"If atheism is a belief, then not collecting stamps is a hobby."

This would make sense if stamps didn't exist.

When I was still a child I was sitting on a park bench one day when I became aware of turbulent movement in the clouds above. To the accompaniment of peals of thunder (it was a sunny day) the clouds parted and an impressively large man with a long white beard floated into view. He pointed his huge finger at me and intoned, in a booming voice, "There is no God."

How can one ignore evidence like that?

Why does this remind me of Douglas Adams?

I've never read Douglas Adams and if he came up with something similar then he copied it off me!

I told this story as a callow teenager, with an admirably straight-face, to my Religious Knowledge teacher at school as a way of explaining my atheism to him. He wasn't amused.
